A US-focused import project. Only the Ancestral Espadín (Isidro Damián, Sola de Vega, NOM 363) is clay-pot ancestral method — the Ensamble and Artesanal Cuishe are copper-pot Jalisco bottlings from the Cascahuín tequila distillery. Note: Wild Common the mezcal brand is separate from Wild Common the tequila brand at wildcommon.com.
Wild Common’s US mezcal line runs only three SKUs. The Ancestral Espadín is a small-batch clay-pot bottling from Isidro Damián in Sola de Vega — hand-crushed with wooden mallets, wild-yeast fermented in pine vats, double-distilled in clay pots. It carries the NOM-070 Ancestral certification (NOM 363) and 47% ABV. Only 945 liters were produced.
The other two bottles in the mezcal line — Ensamble and Artesanal Cuishe — are sourced from NOM 1123 (the Cascahuín tequila distillery in Jalisco) and use copper stills. Not ancestral method.
Important: Wild Common the mezcal brand at shop.wildcommon.com is separate from Wild Common the tequila brand at wildcommon.com. Only the mezcal SKU appears on this site.
