Rey Campero
Rómulo Sánchez Parada's single-palenque brand from Candelaria Yegolé (Zoquitlán, Oaxaca). Every current US-distributed bottle is copper-pot artesanal. The Jabalí 'En Barro' Brown Label is copper-distilled and then rested in clay pots — not clay-pot distilled — and is a common source of consumer confusion. Zero Rey Campero SKUs are currently starred on this site.

Rey Campero is one of the more widely-available serious artesanal producers in the US, run by Rómulo Sánchez Parada in Candelaria Yegolé, Zoquitlán. Every current US-distributed Rey Campero bottle is copper-pot artesanal.
Consumer confusion note: the Jabalí “En Barro” (Brown Label) is often described as clay-pot on retailer sites. That is inaccurate. The bottle is copper-distilled and then rested in clay pots — the “En Barro” name refers to the resting vessel, not the still. It’s a great bottle, but it’s not clay-pot distillation and it doesn’t meet the star criterion.
A one-off 2016 “Rey Campero Jabalí Clay Pot” release WAS distilled in clay, but it was a limited anniversary batch and is not currently in US distribution.

Catalog
12 SKUs — 0 ancestral ★Bottles from this producer we've verified in US distribution — each row cites a source. ★ marks true ancestral: the cited source must explicitly state both clay-pot distillation AND wooden-mallet or tahona milling for this specific bottle. Producer-line statements ("our whole line uses X") do not qualify — verification must be per-bottle. Copper-distilled, shredder-milled, or citation-gap bottles are listed but not starred.
