Curator brand with two distinct product lines. Standard Single Maguey + Ensamble + Sacrificio lines are copper-pot artesanal with tahona milling. The Reserva line — nine bottlings — is explicitly clay-pot ancestral method per Bozal's own site.
Bozal splits cleanly into two production tiers. Per bozalmezcal.com direct: “For our Artisanal mezcals, the spirit is then purified through a double distillation process.” And: “For our Reserva mezcals, our mezcaleros follow the ‘Ancestral’ tradition by strictly using clay pot distillation.”
That means:
- Standard line (Ensamble, Cenizo, Cuishe, Madrecuishe, Sacatoro, Tepeztate, Tobasiche) — copper pot, tahona milling, artesanal.
- Sacrificio line (Borrego, Guías de Calabaza, Ibérico, Pechuga) — pechuga-style copper artesanal.
- Reserva line (Barril, Castilla, Cempasúchil, Chino Verde, Coyote, Jabalí, Tobalá, Arroqueño, Sacatoro) — clay pot ancestral.
Note: do not cite BottleBuzz as a source for Bozal — their template copy incorrectly describes Reserva bottles as copper. Bozal’s own site clearly states clay pot for the Reserva line.
